The San Luis Obispo Public Market began as Bonetti Ranch, a property spanning 80 acres that John Harford purchased as his home. The property was sold several times between 1880 and 1923, then was bought by Florino Bonetti in 1923, who raised produce including sugar beets, barley, wheat, peas, cherry tomatoes, and grapes. Now, the San Luis Obispo Pubic Market features the restored farmhouse, barn, water tower, and granary buildings with modern restaurants, retail shops, a market hall, and a brewery.
