If you’ve been waiting for your moment to register for the California Coast Classic Bike Tour, your chance has arrived. Cycle Central Coast is teaming up again with the Tour to let one lucky cyclist score a complimentary spot in the event.

What is the California Coast Classic Bike Tour?
If you’re new to it, the California Coast Classic Bike Tour is an eight-day, fully supported 525-mile ride across—what else—the shimmering coastal region of California. This year’s event runs September 6-13. Central Coast cyclists will lock in to spend that time conquering routes and spinning through the scenery of Monterey, Big Sur, Morro Bay, Solvang, Ventura, Cambria, and more.
All this action is for a good cause too—in service of the Arthritis Foundation, raising awareness and financial support for the nearly 60 million adults and children in the U.S. living with arthritis.
The Event
So let’s say you’re the winner of the complimentary spot for the Tour—what can you expect?
- You can start by arriving on “Day 0” (that’s Friday, September 5,) to pick up your registration packet in San Francisco.
- Then, starting early on Saturday, September 6, the ride kicks off and you’ll be pedaling from the city into the tiny town of Davenport, on your way to Santa Cruz, off to crushing the coastal ride of your life.
- The next eight days will take you on a 525-mile gauntlet through one iconic coastal California city after another. You’ll burn watts pushing yourself across the invigorating oceanside, reveling in the world-renowned cycling routes and ocean breezes of California’s Central Coast.
- On Day 4, you’ll pass through San Simeon and Hearst Castle on your left before arriving in Cambria. This is the heart of the Central Coast, which has loads of worthy challenges and activities for cyclists, and where you can refuel on olallieberries and incredibly unique and local cuisine.
- After the whole epic ride along this sparkling side of the country, on Saturday, September 13, you’ll power across the finish line in Los Angeles to thrilling fanfare and an emotional closing ceremony.
Check out the California Coast Classic’s own website for full information on the trip and what’s provided to the participating riders.
