Hidden on the backroads of Cambria are farms that harken back to Cambria’s days of origin—harvesting this coastal land has always been a fruitful enterprise, but these days, cyclists can kick things up by exploring the country roads and visiting our local farms on two wheels.
Stepladder Creamery
Stepladder Ranch was founded in 1871 and has been family-owned and operated for three generations. Get to know their friendly herd of LaMancha goats as you tour the creamery, milking parlor, and avocado farm. The ride to Stepladder will take you up Highway 1 and onto dirt roads, so make sure you (and your bike) are ready!
Stolo Vineyards
Sitting at the base of a sun-kissed nine-acre vineyard, the farmhouse and old dairy barn at Stolo Family Vineyards dates back to the late 1800s. Less than three miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyards thrive in Cambria’s unique microclimate, producing unmatched coastal-style Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. Ride east out of Cambria and turn left on Santa Rosa Creek Road to reach the winery for a delightful tour of the vineyards followed by a tasting.
